First of all, know that you are not alone. One thing we are not told a lot is that life has a lot of uncertainties and even when there is guaranteed assurance, it can still be hard to navigate. With each new milestone, I find myself asking questions about whether or not I am doing what I should be doing or what I want to be doing and it is an ongoing process. So what do you do when you are at a crossroad? Here are some of the things that have helped me:
- Writing down my passions
- Reading old journals
- Talking with friends and family
- Being completely honest and real with myself
I listed all of this and believe me, it can still be hard. Sometimes frustration prevents you from seeing clearly and thinking logically. But you can still be better, do better. Take deep breaths and timeouts if you need to so that you can get your head back in the game.
